Sigh. Today marked the end of my vacation. It was such a good holiday in NJ with my family — especially since my mom also had the week off — but today I traveled back to D.C. and back to reality.
The combination of a road trip and feeling melancholy turned my eating into a bit of a free for all today. I had no appetite this morning, then snacked all through the drive and while getting settled in back at home.
I’m contemplating a nutrition challenge, perhaps a Whole30 or 21-Day Sugar Detox, to help lift me out of this post-holiday funk. I’ll do a little research tomorrow and report back about what I decide.
I’ll be back at the office bright dark and early tomorrow at 5 a.m. I’m working New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, which kind of stinks but I think getting back to my routine will do wonders Image may be NSFW.

I wasn’t hungry, so I had a cup of decaf coffee with heavy cream and a bottle of kombucha.
Road trip snacks:
Baby carrots, cashews, banana
Snacks at home:
Steve’s Paleo Krunch bar, handful of chocolates
Dinner:
It’s a miracle that I ate a proper meal today. My mom sent me home with a tupperware of chicken and eggplant stew. Thank goodness for moms Image may be NSFW.
